We are kicking off the 2015 Summer Reading Program with an outdoor party for everyone. Enjoy live music with The Mean Lids, juggling, crafts, activities, and free snow cones! You also can sign up for one of the Library's summer reading programs.

The Mean Lids are only as mean as they need to be to keep the grit in their tones and the edge on their tunes. Spot them by their hats, their long lonesome sounds, and the kicking baritone grooves emanating from their mean, mean fiddle fingers.

The Mean Lids are Miriam Larson (flute and jaw harp); Ben Smith (fiddle and banjo); Matt Turino (guitar, fiddle, and feet).

If it rains, the festivities will move to the Lewis Auditorium.

This concert is generously sponsored by Larry and Margaret Jobe in honor of grandsons Arlin and Berk Orr

Get jazzed at the Library this summer! Sign up for Read to the Rhythm and have a rockin' good time in the Library reading books and magazines, playing games, and having fun at our fun programs.

Read to the Rhythm is for children through grade 5—those being read to and those reading on their own. Every time you read at least 15 minutes, color in a piano key on your reading log. Bring your completed log to the Library to receive a free book and other goodies.

But don’t stop there—keep reading! For each additional reading log you complete, you will receive another free book.

Dates to Remember

May 9 • First day to register

May 28 – August 31 • Log your reading progress
